There is no style!
I am getting sick and tired of hearing the debate of styles: Nuevo, Milonguero, Villa this, Villa that. Funny thing is that the people who argue the most are the people who are outsiders, who live in a foreign land yet seem to be experts on such subject based on the “research” done through….eh compilation of internet articles, of which are written mostly by, guess who, foreigners!
Over and over again, you would hear the Argentine saying, there is no such a thing as Milonguero style, Villa Urqueza style. You ask an Argentine what style Vos dance, most of time you would get an answer ” I dance tango.”
“EL TANGO” NO TIENE SEGUNDO NOMBRE NI APELLIDO. ES TAN SIMPLE COMO SU UNICO NOMBRE…. UNICO! Y ES ARGENTINO
Find the essence of tango, in all of its forms.
Campeones Mundiales de Tango Salon 2010
I always thought they would do very well in the tango world (see my post back in March), and now they are the new Campeones in Tango Salon. Congrats to
Sebastian Gimenez (18 year old) y María Ines Bogado
They are the sixth Campeones trained by Carlos y Rosa Perez
I am special.
A tanguera just relocated from another city. We danced a tanda at this popular milonga.
Tanguera: I remember the first time I danced with you. I thought you were one of the nuevo guys. It was a milonga tanda, right? I didn’t think you were so traditional.
Me: Oh…I am 100% traditional.
But why did you think that I dance nuevo?
Tanguera: Well, most of the people here dance nuevo.
Me: Yeah, very few dance traditional tango… and that makes me rare. I AM SPECIAL!
Tanguera: You ARE special! Now every time I see you I will ask you for a dance.
Me: My pleasure.
