Young and Fabulous

I met Lida Gudovskaya over two years ago at one of my privates with Andrea and Javier. She was studying with them from Russia. I danced with her at the milonga. At that time she was just an average tanguera. Now she has been performing in BsAs and Russia, with Juan Manuel Riera who often can be found dancing at El Beso and Cachirulo.

Thanks to Simbatango , I got to know the name of my tango crush. (see my post: Sunderland practica). :-) She also performs at Plaza Dorrego, which I’ve not been to. They are studying with Carlos and Rosa at Sunderland.

And un amigo Gus:

It is good to be young and fabulous. Enjoy every moment of it!

    Beautiful, thanks for sharing.
Lida’s partner’s last name is Riera.

  2. TP says:

Thank you for the correction. I think the Russian put his last name first. :-0

    You’re welcome :-)

I like the other one too, I tried to film him/them at Canning when he and El Bichi and Enzo were performing, but it was too dark, unfortunately.

The lighting at Canning is always too dim for decent videotaping. Just watched J&A’s last performance at Canning in March, I could barely recognize them. :-P

I got as far as the middle video…WOW!! They are just breath-taking.
I think that I recognise both dancers from the video that you took TP?
-also, one question, please, from that previous post; during the 45 min walking warmup; was the walk both forwards and backwards for the men and women? Like forwards down the floor and then backwards for the return? Did the women walk the same during the exercise as the men? thks

  6. TP says:

    Mario,

Does it matter? Backward, forward, which way down or which way back? The point of the exercise is that you walk and find your own walk. :-)

I was just paying attention to my walk during the exercise.

Hi, well it matters in that I live where there is seldom an opportunity to dance and so I set up practicas when I can find a partner to practice with. I set up a series of tandas first, each devoted to some aspect of the warm up..walking, walking with giros, etc. I would like to know if it is fair to ask my partner to only practice her backward walk while I am practicing my forward walk…so, I was wondering how they did their 45 mins warmup walking in BsAs..why re-invent the wheel, plus they obviously know what’s important.

I see. I didn’t pay too much attention to the women’ side. So couldn’t share more. Men mostly just walked forward, a couple of guys did walk backward from time to time, to the music.
